Type VITEM-I Visa Requirement:
To be eligible for a Type VITEM-I visa the purpose of the trip
must be one of the following :
- attend school under an approved exchange student program;
- pursue scientific, technologic, or volunteer activities under the umbrella of an international cooperation program;
- pursue professorial studies/ research/ teaching and/or pursue scientific/ technologic activities at an university, research, or similar organization;
- receive technical training in the operation and/or maintenance of machinery or equipment produced in Brazil;
- work as an unpaid intern benefitting from a scholarship under the umbrella of a program sponsored by a Brazilian governmental agency, an international organization, or an authorized exchange students institution
1.Valid
Passport:
Your signed passport must be valid and with sufficient blank
pages for any visa stamps (Note: passport page 22, 23, 24 are not visa pages, and can not be used for visas). . The passport's expiration
date must be greater than six months from the date of entry
for the visa you are applying for. If your passport does
not meet the requirements, you must renew your passport
or obtain a new one.
Note: You need to send your original passport to obtain the visa.
2.Complete
Application:
Download, print, fully complete, and sign two copies
of the application form.
3.Photographs:
You must provide two 2"x 2" passport photograph. Machine or home photographs
are not acceptable.
4.Proof of Residence:
A notarized copy of applicant's driver licence.
5. Support Documents:
For activities under an international cooperation program: copy of the international agreement, proof of professional expertise, and letter from sponsoring organization informing activities to be pursued by applicant and attesting to the following: that the organization will be responsible for repatriating the applicant (and his/her family, as applicable) once the visa expires or the agreement ceases to exist, and that the applicant will not receive any payment from a Brazilian party.
For professorial, research, or scientific activities: a letter from Brazilian sponsoring organization informing activities to be pursued and pecuniary conditions.
For exchange students: letter from school, college or university in Brazil confirming the enrollment or acceptance of the student and informing the duration of studies; proof of financial capability to pay for the stay in Brazil; letter from the sponsoring Brazilian exchange students program organization, stating the student's inclusion of the program, name and location of the educational institution, as well as the address/ names/ qualifications of responsible parties of "hosting family" in Brazil; copy of the Brazilian exchange students program organization bylaws, and its Cadastro Nacional de Pessoas Jurídicas
For technical training: letter from employer attesting to the fact that applicant will not receive salary or payment of any kind by a Brazilian party, and letter from Brazilian corporation informing the nature of the training to be provided and attesting to the fact that it will be hold responsible for the applicant while in Brazil.
6.Non Criminal Record
Non-criminal record issued by the local Police Department.
